The Meet...
Sky and Toby gave birth to 5 puppies; only 1 female. Terri Rutter, our wonderful breeder, let Dean and I come up to Everett for a quick meet-n-greet...er, that lasted about an hour and a half. ;)
The moment I saw her, I fell. She was so sweet. She was cuddled up with all of her brothers, experiencing her little puppy dreams. Terri woke her up, and passed her to me.
Yup, that's it. She's mine. How did we come across a Liver and White Female, bred by the breeders who I wanted to work with...AND she's available right when I was ready...this is too easy. What's the catch?
No catch, just fate. Hello Laney.

Where Laney Began...
I've wanted a dog of my own for years, but once our families Golden Retrevier, Sadie, passed on...the desire of owning really started to hit me. I decided to research the English Springer Spaniel breed due to Dean having Odie growing up. She was a Liver and White female that he absolutely adored.
The more I researched, the more excited I got over this breed. They are described as happy, go-lucky and eager to please dogs. They are socialable, playful, gentle and extremely intelligent; very quick learners! Not to mention, they are surely to crack you up during playtime.
I looked over the breed for a little more than a year. I wasn't living in ideal conditions for a dog (townhouse in Lower Queen Anne), and I wasn't quite in the right mind set either. I was going out most nights with friends, running off to Hawaii and Napa on a quarterly basis. So, I researched and waited for the right moment. During my waiting period, I found the breeder I ideally wanted to go with:
Cedarhome Springers - AKC ESS
The breeders have loads of information on the website. Who they are, what they do, their expectations of owners, lineage, recomendations, pictures, their health contract, etc. And when I finally had an opportunity to contact them, something magical happened...
She was there.
